Love you to moon and back…

She was the IAS daughter married into the IAS family. The cherished daughter-in-law, the trophy wife, the one they all couldn’t stop raving about. Then she got pregnant. She was pampered dime-a-dozen. After all, she was bearer of the next IAS heir.

The day she gave birth was a warm sunny one. ‘It’s a girl!’ announced the doctor. There were congratulations in the air but a subtle hush too. Nobody said it but she smelt the patriarchy air.

‘Don’t worry, my baby! Ma will always love you to moon and back’ she said as she walked out the hospital.
